PROGRAM:

The Music is the Message (Monday 12:00-2:00pm)

WHERE IS ‘HOME’?

Hungry Head

HOW DID YOU COME TO BE LIVING IN THIS AREA?

I arrived in the Shire accidentally with my late partner & 3 children 37 yrs ago after arriving in Australia just 3 weeks before. We found we had a very old friend living here and knew as soon as we set foot here that this was where we wanted to put our roots down. Looking back, it seems fate played her hand.

WHAT DOES YOUR PROGRAM OFFER TO LISTENERS?

A chance to dip into some of the great artists and music of the past and present where social commentary and protest have been central to the songs. Lots of classic/iconic material as well as surprises and inspiration from all around the world

WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN TRIPLE B?

After years in the local music industry as sound engineer, promoter and presenter (Director of Bellingen Global Carnival and Die Happy Productions), I stepped back over the past few years and now the Bs seem a perfect way to step back in and share what I have with the local community in a different way. It feels good. The Music Is The Message!

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT ON-AIR AT TRIPLE B?

My garden, my family, my friends and some local events and activities as they come up.

IF YOU WERE TO STAGE YOUR OWN FESTIVAL IN BELLO, AND COULD HAVE ANY THREE HEADLINE ACTS WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Oh the ironySo many… Youssou N’Dour (we narrowly missed booking him for Global), Tom Waits, Rokia Traore.
