Postcards From NYC (Saturday 3.30 – 4.30pm)
WHERE IS ‘HOME’?
HOW DID YOU COME TO BE LIVING IN THIS AREA?
I’m new to this area and recently moved here from spending 20 years in Brooklyn, New York.
My parents retired to this area and I’ve been visiting them for many years. I’m currently living in Bonville to be closer to my dad.
WHAT DOES YOUR PROGRAM OFFER TO LISTENERS?
The Guitar Show offers listeners a chance to dig-in and check out guitar players whose music you might know but whose names you don’t! Session-guitarists, Seasoned guitarists, She and He guitarists.
Whether it’s acoustic or electric, hollow or solid, bended or blended, 6, 12, 4 or even 3 stringed – we’ll be playing guitars!
WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN TRIPLE B?
I’m new to Triple B. I first became aware of the station when I saw the fabulous OB caravan at the Saltwater Festival. I think community radio is very important. The Bello area is rich both culturally and creatively and that’s something I want to celebrate
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT ON AIR AT TRIPLE B?
Write, record, spend time with family and play guitar, of course.
IF YOU WERE TO STAGE YOUR OWN FESTIVAL IN BELLO, AND COULD HAVE ANY THREE HEADLINE ACTS WHO WOULD THEY BE?
If I was to stage my own festival in Bello – well it would be hard to choose the top 3 – but Stevie Wonder would have to top the list. I’d also love to hear Neil Young and Los Lobos play together for a big guitar sound… And vocally, I’d love to hear Mavis staples again.
