PROGRAM:

The B Side (Sunday 2-4pm)

WHERE IS ‘HOME’?

Bellingen

HOW DID YOU COME TO BE LIVING IN THIS AREA?

Good question – I just got a map and randomly picked a place that was south of the NT border!!

WHAT DOES YOUR PROGRAM OFFER TO LISTENERS?

Lesser known tracks from the some of the great albums of our time

WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN TRIPLE B?

I think community radio is a very important service in any community; it is especially valued by me as it is a way to hear new music that is NOT played on the commercial stations as well as learn about the issues that affect Bello and beyond. I also see it as providing me with an opportunity to meet like-minded people. Thirty years ago I worked at the community radio station in Darwin (8TOP FM) and I found it to be a very rewarding experience. I love to share music and also to hear new music. I am interested in Federal and local politics and also the Indigenous issues in this area. I would like to do some interviews etc in the future and contribute to the community in that way.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT ON AIR AT TRIPLE B?

I am a mature-aged University Student at SCU (doing Psychology Honours in 2019); I care for my elderly father and 2 mad dogs.

IF YOU WERE TO STAGE YOUR OWN FESTIVAL IN BELLO, AND COULD HAVE ANY THREE HEADLINE ACTS WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Jackson Browne with a back up band of Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt. Van Morrison with a back up band of Sinead O’Connor, Mavis Staples and B.B King. And Daniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats (just to prove I am not stuck musically in the last century.)
