Fill in Shifts

WHERE IS ‘HOME’?

Bellingen, north side

HOW DID YOU COME TO BE LIVING IN THIS AREA?

A long meandering life spent living in cities in the northern hemisphere, stressing myself out working in newsrooms, then I found love and he had an Aussie accent, so we got married, drove around the country til we found this beautiful town to call home.

WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN TRIPLE B?

I was new to Bellingen and fresh from doing journalism in London and NY – though the print and/or digital kind, not much radio – it felt like a way to meet people, give back to the community and keep those skills from getting too rusty. Triple B offers amazing content and huge leeway to really offer unique programming only possible, I think, in a progressive, down-to-earth area like Bello Shire.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT ON AIR AT TRIPLE B?

I’m a recovering journalist and current computer programmer / software engineer. I work from home, but when I’m not working I’m learning how to speak Australian, meeting new people and playing with my dog, who is also American 🙂

IF YOU WERE TO STAGE YOUR OWN FESTIVAL IN BELLO, AND COULD HAVE ANY THREE HEADLINE ACTS WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Nick Cave, The Handsome Family and Jack White (the Raconteurs perhaps)
